Anyone got a supplier for longer CV spline bolts?

Just about to do all the CV boots and service the CV joints on the Westy. I am going to fit 2wd cv boots to the front inner and the longer hex bolts are really rounded all ready. I am also going to fit some of the CV spacers to the rear to handle the lift too and wanted to use the longer spline bolts as they last miles longer and dont round off so easy. I am going to order from Brickwerks but the bolts that come with the 2wd boots are short and hex bolts (thanks for taking a look Simon) so not ideal for my usage.

I think Syncro Paddy might have mentioned a supplier in the past?

Anyway I really need to crack on with this at the weekend as I have a bit of a dead line to get the van sorted for a trip so any advice or links would be great.

Any bolt supplier should be able to do you high-tensile M8 cap-head bolts of somewhere around the right length. The normal length ones are a non-standard length, though they are obtainable.

I've used Orbital Fasteners in Watford a fair bit in the past. I know that HMF fasteners in Amersham have supplied the right standard length in the past.

Not sure I understand this. Could you elaborate on what these spacers are for and where you get them?

These are 50mm, just not splined as you asked for.

Are they the same size as the standard front inner ones Simon or the same size as the 2wd rears?

Sweet, thanks for the info guys, very helpfull. :ok

Spline bolts would be ideal but new hex ones might have to do for now as time is running out.

apologies for the gatecrash, searched cv bolts and this was the forst topic as its the most recent.
just got delivery of bolts after my cv failure friday, theres two different types though as i got some from brickwerks which came with the washer and some from just kampers.
mines not a syncro but i was just hoping to cheekily gatecrash this thread as its so recent to ask if theres one thats better than the other ?
h :?

Front shafts have a fudge factor shim (spacer washer) fitted on the inner end between the CV and the differential flange, hence the bolts for the front inners are 50mm instead of 48mm at the rear

Al's been getting a topping out feeling on the drivetrain on his much jacked up/modded 14" van so has popped in a pair of front cv spacer rings onto his rear shafts and it seems to have reduced the rough feeling

Dave Futbus made a load a few years ago, don't know if he has them still, Al had my last spare pair of used ones.

Not everyone would need them, but Al has lengthened trailing arms so his shafts have further to reach now, trying these was a quick way to check validity of thought process - the other alternative would to be to find some earlier driveshafts from an early 2wd as they are longer
