Just a general enquiry with others experience, I need to do 4 arches and front steps and wondered who's best for non genuine repair panels, genuine are unfortunately not in budget

AH Schofield I am told are one of the best for panels

as ^^^ says, the pattern parts are much of a muchness, schofields and jk are often the same klockers,main difference ive found is that jk throw them in a box and they rattlke round and keep getting sent back whereas schofies tend to gift wrap!! dont be expecting much with the fronts as they are abysmal as even the suppliers tell you , there are a few firms doing the repmade genuine ones and old stock is available if you search, as for the steps well ive had hold of a genuine vw rep step and they are as bad as the p[attern ones so if you cant rebuild them yourself then this is about your only option

The presses have been found and genuine front arches are now back on the market from VW Classic parts in germany. Brickwerks supply them. The are a lot dearer than the rippled tin foil patter arches that JK and Schofields sell (due to classic having to send the press to a company to make small runs rather than the 1000's VW had made when the vans were still in production) but I would assume the labour costs of making the crap arches fit is negated in the ease at which a genuine arch will fit??

The genuine arches also go past the seatbelt mounts, on the top of the arch, too

Hi all
And thanks, it's all food for thought, labour to fit wobbly panels against labour to fit good ones?
And obviously the final result after paint.
Will look into VW classic and see what they offer
