help, just got van running finally and had fitted new coil and 009 dizzy, starts and runs sweet but maybe just coincidence but it keeps blowing fuse and lost indicators and left headlight?? any ideas why.
weve taken all injection system out inc wiring but surely removing this wouldnt affect the indicators??? any ideas where to start as i assume its shorting somewhere
any advice please fire away
oh and its booked in for MOT tomz!!

Taking advice or recommendation from JK is probably similar to asking the average new car salesman the firing order of a Bugatti Veyron.....they might give an answer but I wouldn't be betting my Grans pension on the accuracy of the info.

finally a productive suggestion!! will look into it, all lights are fine just indicaters, even headlights ok now so must be some loose wiring need sorting!!nightmare! think leave it to an expert!

Yep that makes sense. Electrical problems like this one cannot be answered over the forum, because we don't know what has been going on when so many people have been fiddling around with such elderly wiring systems over the years.

Sages, they will tend to rib you using webers and a 009 but if you're happy with it then fine. Its just that the 009 does not (nor will it ever) match the power curve of a VW engine without major modifications from the cam upwards. Its a myth that has perpetuated by sellers to shift box loads of 009 dizzys. You'll be fine until things go out of tune and then you'll have enormous problems setting it up again.

im up for a ribbing anyday of the week , but hey the vans not gonna get thrashed or even big mileage so as long as it does the job im happy!
