Hi Guys,
Having a right moment, trying to get the water pump off a late DG.
Everything is loose BUT I can't work out how to get the lower water pipe out of the way enough to remove the pump.
The water pipe curves down behind the crank pulley so very little movement in the pipe.
The small rubber connector hose has been disconnected from the stub pipe from the block but still not enough movement to get the pump off.
The only way I can see is to remove the stub pipe from the block on the drivers side, giving enough room the push the pipe towards the drivers side?
Removal of the water pipe from the block looks like the oil filler will need to be removed and therefore dropping the oil?

Is there an easier way, have I missed something?
Any advice greatly appreciated, this is driving me mad!!

Aaaaaaaarg,
just spent ages fiddling around that pulley
Armed with spanner and large persuader it just sort of came off!
Thought it would be torqued to kingdom come and would need a puller to get it off.

to be fair, if it had power steering and aircon it would be "torqued to kingdom come"

You can take the other metal pipe off the RHS head does the same, may have to release the rubber pipe can't remember but done it twice without removing the pulley

To be fair he did mention it..
But that might open another can with a snapper or busted plastic .. and this lad is a worrier

I personally would have removed the head stub pipe, the crank pulley is a damage limitation exercise

From what I could see the oil filler pipe would have to come off in order to remove the stub pipe from the block.
That would mean dropping the relatively fresh oil out.
As I have already lost some of the new expensive coolant didn't want to waste the oil as well!
To make matters worse, the bucket of saved coolant had a number of flowers, leaves and grass added to it as my daughter thought the pretty pink water needed some extra colour

There is normally a sieve to be found in the kitchen......

But give it a good wash afterwards before you dust the mince pies with icing sugar.
