bodywork question

My t25 side panel looked like to had been badly repaired panels, it looked like they were comeing away in straight lines. I thought i would just need to be welded.

When i have sanded it down the bodywork has the most filler i have ever seen and the panel had been screwed in. I have now welded the panel proerly but i need to make up the height difference and dont want to put loads of filler in as to thick it may crack.

Should I build it up with fibreglass filler, and then a little filler. made it sound worse then it is but its need sorting and grinding the whole thing back isnt an option

Without photos it's difficult to know how bad your bodywork is. Whether you do it properly or bodge it with filler can only be your decision. I'm sure MM will be able to tell you how to do it properly.
