HI

My recently acquired T25 has come with a exhaust that has a serious blow from the pipe header almost alaround by the flange

Yes I did post earlier as I thought it only have a leak by the elbow

I did a temporary fix in the hope that I could work on the engine to try and get it running smooth

The van starts first time when cold then will only pull away by increasing the revs

When driving the van is hesitant in all gears when trying to accelerate hard

Gently acceleration is ok and the engine runs fine on tick over and does not smoke either cold or hot

Starting when hot is a struggle and will only fire up if I press the pedal hard on the floor

Are these problems due to the poor exhaust condition or more likely to be something else

If so could you point me in the right direction once again I would be grateful

Blowing exhaust can cause problems but probably not all you are describing

Sounds like carb or carb air leaks to me

Some further points
there is a transfer jet. It helps in snap acceleration conditions but not in gentle acceleration
this can be checked.
with the ducting off, look down the throat and get an operative to depress the accelerator.
you should see a healthy squirt of fuel. shoot down the throat.
It is generated by the accelerator pump, who's diaphragm can wear out and fail

Air leaking into the inlet side is the other most common reason next to exhaust.

brake servo hose
vacuum hoses
distributor advance diaphragm
choke pull down unit
second throttle diaphragm
gaskets

a hot engine does need a foot to floor start according to the instruction manual!
