Unfortunatly yet again I am experiencing some problems with the running of my 1.9 petrol, - my camper has been converted from the 1.9 fuel injection system to carburettor due to endless problems had year after year. My camper is reliable now but not running very smooth. It has a pierburg 2E on it now but I was told yesterday that the throttle linkage does not appear to be the correct linkage system?? Is there any differece in the linkage system for a pierburg 2E carburettor compareed to a pierburg 2E3 / 2E4 ??
If there is a difference any idea's were I could get the correct linkage system for the pierburg 2E I have on my camper.
as ever - many thanks for any help

filthy bugger..
The pierburg is one of the best carbs I have worked with.
nice and simple, they rarely have issues.
everything attached to it however, (autochoke, heaters, pull down, linkages etc) seizes, wears, leaks and breaks

As said , the Pierburb was fitted to lots of different manufacturers, even the one fitted to the Golf of the same era was quite different.
I would dis agree with Kev that it is an easy carb to work on...untill you fully understand how it works, It has taken me a couple of years tinkering to fully understand it.
In my opinion it was over complicated , when right it is a great bit of engineering. But as things start to go wrong, people adjust the wrong bit to compensate and this starts a slippery slope untill everything is so far from factory settings it can be a nightmare to get back to how it should be.
If you can take a picture of yours, especially the linkage then this would help with clarification of what version you have.
Some people give in and fit a webber... I have read that it has mixed reviews when fitted to the flat four waterboxer, lots of people fit it to the Golf inline four though and it works really well.
