I am looking

what year is your van, or what code box do you have at present ?

fitting the early Aircooled box will require a fair bit of work in a late van like yours, it can be done but you need to modify the linkage and sort out the mounting as you won't just be able to bolt it in

if your van is four speed then easiest gearbox to go for is the ABD from the 1.9 petrol and if five speed then the ABN from petrol or 3H from the 1.6TD, they are the same, and will suit a 1.9TD AAZ fine, it's only a JX with an extra 300mm displacement, or you can use a box from a 2.1 petrol but they are more sought after

but without knowing the code of the box you have it's all a bit academic

it is a 5 speed dog leg gearbox, i will get under the bus tomorrow and have a look for the code, if it stops raining

these are the only 2 parts of the gearbox number i can get 3H23019 (bottom) 01103 (top)
