I have an eberspacher sold as "working" on ebay. Initial tests seem to suggest its not working (no sign of power . Wondered if anyone is nearby to me who knows enough to at least tell me if it was user error or it's an inaccurate description?

Some of the wiring for the thermostat/switch seems to have been added afterwords with none standard cables.

Pints available upon application ;)

Cheers.

Matt.

User error is the main reason.
Check the wiring against the manual.

Matt, what you want is a solar-powered heater :rofl

Saw you this time down by Coton arches - was a bit slow to wave though. As Oldie says, check the wiring. All these heaters have cutouts and will play dead if everything isn't wired up spot on.

Well, making progress at least. The pump was absolutely filthy and covered in a layer of who knows what. After a thorough cleaning, its now clicking with current, but it's not phsically pumping any fuel. From what I read it needs quite a lot of clicks to pump a ml of fuel.

I note that the spring and bearing are quite corroded, ordered a new one, but anyone have any other ideas what might be a reason the pump is clicking but not pushing fuel through? Would rather not spend 60quid on a new pump if I can avoid it, until I'm sure the rest is working. :)

Cheers,

Matt.

I think a rewire is definitely in order, is there an easy way to check if the thing is just dead?

Pondered sending it off for service but I don't want to spend £150 if its not repairable.

Wondering if I am better to sell it as spares and get something newer.
