I need to drain the water to remove a defective heater located under the rear seat.
Is it easy to drain the water system and refill?
And i need to reconnect the pipes from the heater too.
Thanks

personally I would just crimp the hoses and remove it.
there will be no pressure in there.
Did you mean connect them together after it has been removed?
Then yes..just get the clips and connector ready... and push together

As the rear heater is higher than most of the rest of the system, as Kev says, just nip the pipes ( don't damage and crush them) and take it out ........ You will only loose what is actually in the heater..... And the tiny amount of air you let in will be nothing to warrant bleeding on a healthy system

Thanks Kev.
No too sure of the I/D but the hose is 17mm (approx) in diameter. Maybe 14/15mm I/D ?
Thanks
Steve

When I did mine temporarily I just used 15mm copper pipe bent in a semicircle and 2 clips, no need to blank them off.

Thank you all for the replies.

He will have something I am sure.

personally I would not join them together.
leave them separate or blocked.
they create a short loop for water to circulate , rather than from memory the front main or heater radiator.
the pipes are a tad smaller than the front heater hoses
if its a super permanante job you can easily replace the hoses under than van with ordinary ones removing the take offs for the heater as I did on mine!
