Retro fitting a front difflock

Guys, roughly speaking how hard is it to source the parts and retro fit a diff lock to a vehicle which came with only a rear diff lock?

Also roughly how much?

£500 up front gets you a locking front diff and all the electrics/controls then when your done you flog your old diff for a £2-250 depending on condition so total cost when yor done about £300.£350 or thereabouts :ok

Thanks Jason. Are they readily available? Are they easy enough to fit?

I'm off to look at a van on Sunday and it only has a rear diff lock, hence the questions.

Thanks guys.

im sure if you ask on the forum you could find a syncro owner to come with you and kick some tyres, always a good idea to have someone with you who knows what to look for

Agreed and this is why I drive a syncro and not a landy or lada or any other "4x4" difflocks all the way mate!

The van I'm checking out is an ex Czech fire truck but with a Westfalia interior. It has only a rear diff lock which is why I'd be looking to fit a front one.

It's in Maidenhead and I'll be looking this Sunday if anyone's up for it?

I saw that van a few years ago, it was quite a strong price. I'm sure I was with Jed and jake, think they got some video of it?

Well, as I've been told, better to pay out for a sorted van than buy cheap and pay out anyway.

How did it look to you then? It looks good and hopefully the price is negotiable.

From memory it looked a nice van, no idea on the running gear though. I think he was asking 14k
Look for a video of Jeds from the volksworld show from a few years back
