Hi folks, I'm a long time reader of these pages but this is my first post. I have a t25 1986 1.6diesel cs engine. The buzzer of doom and flasher are driving me crazy. Had it in for a bit of work and after the mechanic testing the oil pressure was told the oil pressure was running high. Could be due to a pressure relief valve sticking. Checked Bentley manual but pressure relief valve isn't shown on the diesel diagram. Can anyone help us with its location? thanks.

On the oil pump isn't it?

The buzzer sounds off when there is low pressure..as you are probably aware.
So if the oil pressure has been recorded as high then it would suggest your problem is with the sender or it's connections.
What was the recorded pressure.
1, at tickover hot
2; at 3000 rpm hot

Now, I'm pretty much a Total novice when i comes to engines. Is the oil pump located inside the oil pan? If it is, I might just leave it until the misses delivers the baby - shes due any time now.

Not sure what the pressures were. Mechanic jut said the pressure was reading high. I wasn't too concerned as my brother in law was coming up to have a look and normally h can sort things out. Its the first time he's been stumped.

I've ordered a couple of sensors for the oil pressure which should be coming next week.

Yes oil pump is inside the sump,easy job to change though.

Baby came early. Still a bit shook. Going to get to it as soon as permission is granted from the lady of the house. I've a month off so it'll get done. I better get all the parts needed first an then I'll tackle it.

Weather is terrible and the month has flown by. Little baby no has a name - Arthur. Can't wait till he's old enough to help out. Back to work tomorrow.
I've never attempted anything much more complicated than an oil change but I'm willing to give it a go. It'll have to be done on the driveway. I've a feeling it's going to be sludgy gunk stopping the pressure relief valve from doing its job properly. If I'm going to tackle this it won't be until the weekend when the rain might have eased off. I've a Bentley manual and a selection of tools, a replacement gasket for oil pan, two new pressure sensors but no torque wrench. I've a feeling I'll need one along with new oil and filter. Should I get an oil pressure test kit?

An actual replacemnet pressure relief valve seems tricky to locate, so I'm hoping the original will be serviceable.

Has anyone out there done this job already and if so what's exactly needed - tools and parts - and what are the pitfalls I need to look out for?
