I would say the best rear tyre is a commercial van tyre.
assuming you have standard rims then a 185/70X14C would be good

I use Firestone Vanhawk 8 ply, superb tyres and should rob you about 38 to 45 quid per tyre balanced. Good grip and they never seem to wear out. Wobbly

hi again - thanks for the input - just getting used to this forum lark - have a vw t25 1984 b reg - 1.9 petrol auto - hightop - was given to me by my sister and in a bit of a sorry state - over the last 8 months ive every so slowly been repairing her - electrics - new rock and roll bed - seat belts - leisure wiring - engine and chassis sound as a pound - pierburg carb very flaky - managed to get a 2nd hand engine and having carb replaced tomorrow - found out that these t25's are great despite the age - flogged the car and now only using this - only fails me when i want to goto the dentist - 4 attempts and crapped out 4 times - otherwise not let me down - been lurking on this forum and its great - lots of different views/answers to questions etc have helped me in restoration - regards - john

I've got Wobbly's old van. Does anyone know the correct pressure for these tyres?

According to Herr Volkswagen the pressures for the standard tyres ie:185R14C (C = Commercial) are:-

Front: 2.5 (35) Rear: 3.3 (47) Spare 3.3 (47) Bars (PSI)

N.B. The above tyre pressures are for water cooled T25s as air cooled run on higher pressures.

I just phoned up to get a quote for some firestone vanhawks for my rears.

Several things:

1) My tyres on my alloys are currently 185/65/R15 - apparently the nearest i will get is 195/70/R15's.
2) £63 fitted per wheel

Will i be alright fitting these tyres ? I've got a 60mm drop.

Is it ok to fit these on the rears only ? I don't really want to spend £240 unless i really have to.

thanks

Ringo
