Petrol leak, please read

Hi all. A few days ago we set off to Edinburgh for a few days. We set off and called at the local petrol station to fill up. I filled her up to the top when someone shouted to me that fuel was pouring out from underneath. This was the first time I had filled her up to the top for a long journey so had never noticed the leak before.
When we got her the previous owners had just had a new tank fitted so you would assume all is well. Unfortunately for us, some numpty who fitted the tank (it was a garage too!) decided to re-use the grommet seal where the plastic filler neck enters the tank, instead of fitting a new one for less than a tenner. The seal had a huge split on the inside which you would never have found unless you filled the tank up.
I dread to think what could have happened if we had not discovered it before driving onto the motorway, fuel spraying back towards exhaust.
Please, please everyone, check your fuel tank seal, even if it has a new tank fitted! :!:

The same garage that changed the tank also fitted the fuel pump and supposedly renewed the fuel lines, as my van is a 2.1 DJ with injection I am deffo going to renew all lines myself so I know they are safe! Another little job for the weekend, oh well, its all good fun :)
