No standard exhaust fitted?

Hi everyone,

Just taken my Foster and Day Coachbuilt T25 in for an MOT and the exhaust system needs replacing. However after looking at the replacements from Brickwerks and JK it appears that someone may have installed a non standard exhuaust. Its a 2.1 injection water cooled engine from 1987 but if you look at the photos all the pipes come out of the back of the exhaust like an 'early' exhaust whereas the silencer looks like a 'later' type and is supported. Ive spoken to Brickwerks and they say its strange to have flexi connectors fitted as well.

Obviously worried which replacement I should buy and if it doesnt fit Ill be left with an expensive stainless steel piece of art for the front room!

Any thoughts very much welcome

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Kev,
Thanks for the reply. MOT garage says to replace it all. Is a syncro a 4wd?

Cheers,
Chris

my apologies I think I am mistaken about the mount not sure if it is a syncro.

but you can fit an early exhaust system from Brickwerks... or a late system as you have the silencer saddles

late system on mine

the late system is quieter..

Pretty sure its not 4wd. Spoke to Brickwerks and its a long wait (8 weeks) for one of theirs so was looking to go for this one from JK

Just concerned that with the pipes coming out of the end and curving around, will there be enough room by the side of the engine (as why would they have changed it currently?)

Yes silencer is shorter and no you don`t use the clips.
I got Steve at Gasure to fit mine and he as always did a brilliant job.
Good luck

I have one fitted too (about a year ago) and I too am happy with it, but note, they are a bit noisier than the std system, (especially when new and not yet sooted up a bit), but not boy racer loud. This is worth bearing in mind, as some folks would prefer the quiet purr of a std late type one as per the Brickwerks item ;)
