Noisy Sliding Door

The sliding door on my 1984 Westy makes a very loud "Clunk" when it is shut. Is this normal or is there a rubber stop or something missing?
I keep waking the neighbors up when I am on sites
Any Suggestion??

every camper i have owned,ive upset the neighbours shutting the sliding door at 6 oclock in the morning.

Can't you upgrade your parts for door? I've removed and serviced my sliding door and its much quieter. Two man job to get the door back on! When outside the van I slide the door and just press the door in firmly. Saves me slamming it shut!
