Any idea what this is attached to the fuel return pipe? cant see it mentioned in the wiki's or my Haynes book?

looks like a nice piece of 22mm copper plumbing pipe with reduced ends and proper plumbing brackets to boot!

I can only guess that someone thought they were better the Volkswagen's research and development department and convinced themselves that this bit of tube would serve some VITAL purpose that VW hadn't thought of!

Yeah?! from what i gathered i thought mebe someone decided to retrofit some sort of extra fuel filter similar in design to something like a Beemer might have perhaps?! i could probaly take it off because unless it ACTUALLY serves a purpose, whats the point in it bein there?!

It is a fuel saving device I think. I have one fitted to mine....see this post on here...

It looks like some of the "fuel saving" "align your particles" magnet-inna-tube things. If it's in the return, then that's even more amusingly pointless...

yep it's a magnetic fuel saver device, chuck it out, It would have made no difference in the return or the feed pipe as they are completely useless. Just extra clips to leak.

Bwahahahaaaaaa Fuel saving device Hahahaha! lpg or solar powered van would be more likely to save fuel........ except the latter, think il chuck it bc IT DOESNT BLOODY WORK !!!! lol, magnets!
