was meant to put this up ages ago but i suppoe better late than never. On one of my recent trips when driving down the road at approx 90km/hr i heard a sudden noise which sounded like a blowout and pulled over nothing was particularly obvious but when i tried to drive a very loud rumbling and vibration started and then what sounded like metal beaten eaten and spat out followed after quite a while of panicking thinking it was the gearbox or possibly a CV joint that had gone it emerged that it was actually a rear wheel bearing this one in fact










from the photos you can see the effect of water damage (possibily driving through a certain part of the Seine)
compared to another old bearing which has just suffered normal wear

You might want to re pack that...looks like some wear may of taken place.


Mine worry me..this hasn't helped much!

and a speedisleeve of the correct size for the inner seal surface, plus machining cost me over £65
but aided by toomanytoys the job was good
