solex carb replacment

hi all i have a dilemer i have a t25 1600 ct air cooled doing a tune up not ruuning spot on yet looking at carb in a nut shell is knackerd
all the pull levers have play in them its genrely worn out i got hold of a rebuild kit that does most of the range as well . but realy looking for a new carb
its a solex 34 pict 4 woring with a hals ignition/vacume . i just cant find one but can find at a good prive the solex 34 pict 3 ???? will this carb fit and be ok once tuned will i loose any power if i can find some lol or :idea: can i fit another carb type and increse preformance any one help thanks rob

There is another thread about this very subject.

The popular suggestion is to go for a Dellorto 36 / 40 set up.

Without physically comparing a pict 34 - 3 and a pict 34 - 4 side by side, it is difficult to tell thd differences between the two.

There's a fella in Clacton who does full refurbs - including spindles - I believe. Don't know his name but if u search "clacton" on here, it should come up.

thank guys very helpfull i do know you cant buy a new one in the uk so far :(
