Turbo oil feed pipe

I've got a T25 and it has been fitted with a Passat 1.9 turbo diesel engine - but I don't exactly which engine model.
The oil feed pipe from the engine to the turbo has been replaced by a made-up copper pipe and today it cracked (again) covering the back of the van in oil and almost cooking my engine.
I need a new pipe and so far a few VW specialists are offering me the wrong pipes - or saying that they can't get the part.
I don't know where to find the engine number - or the pipe in question. Any pointers, anyone?

I may be wrong but I think most of us with 1.9TD conversions have pipes that have been made up rather than bought as a 'genuine part'. There's a thread on here somewhere (or it may be the Brickyard forum) that details how to get one made up or even DIY. In theory, a copper pipe of the right length and shape (needs routing around the back of the cyl head, obviously, or perhaps over it) with the correct ends flared out by one of those pipe flaring machines will be the best for the job. I'll go and have a look for the thread in question, and report back.

Thanks dekhella - I've got a copper pipe now but it's hard to flare the ends properly for VW - as a specialist pipe company explained to me.
Copper is weaker and prone to splitting - so steel is best. I'm wondering if something like this might do:

the flexi you've linked to i have fitted on my TDI, fits nicely. But the standard oil feed pipe of the passat will fit too (if the engine has the passat exhaust manifold), they normally crack because the clips are missing. the pipe then shakes about and you get stress fractures.

We have a new one made in goodridge braided hose, should cost you about £45 from your local hydrulic pipe company, you want 800mm long with fittings to suit your turbo, and oil take off. We do away with fittings and have ours made with 12mn and 10mm banjos then fit them direct to turbo and oil filter housing
