Has anybody any ideas where I can source a thermostat for my T25. 2lt A/C. Mine has given up the ghost.
Can we run these motors without one? Dont want to melt me engine!
Thanks

Could try one of the traders on here or Breaker..be sure to test in hot water before fitting...
Yes you can run without one ..providing your cooling flaps stay open...read below
On startup on a normal working system the cooling flaps are closed to allow the engine to reach normal operating temp quickly and the thernostat expands as it is heated by the block and allows the cooling flaps to open and hence cool the cylinders. If the thermostat fails it usually fails in the expanded position so the flaps will stay open and still be cooling the engine. To be on the safe side if you know the thermostat is knacked, disconnect the cable and ensure that the flaps stay OPEN. the spring on the bar should default them open. The engine will run fine like this , but it is advisable to replace the thermostat as soon as you can get hold of one, as the engine will take longer to warm up hence wear at a faster rate than its design..
Hope this helps
