With a budget of 4 pence..

Hello,

This week end I decided to go for the 2.0 version of my shade sail..

Image

The first try for Le Mans...very bad weather..proved I needed a much taller 'pole'

From the frame of an awning I recovered an extending 3 piece pole...

And welded chain links for the attachments..

Image

To 'help' the locking device in high winds I add a serflex...

Image

The pegs are hardened steel( for rocky ground) with a large washer welded on top. together with the corresponding chain link...

Image

There are 2 attachments on the roof...

Image

The rubber patches are to stop the (mousqueton de pompier) clips from tapping the roof in high wind

Why the budget of 4 pence... well I didn't have any guy line tensioners.. so I looked in the coins pot and found some 2 pence pieces..

2 swings of the flypress on either side of ER2 et voila.. :rofl :rofl :rofl

Image

So while I wait for the sun to come over the mountain.. I'll go to the 'Oops' motor..

Cordialement,

Hello,

Just to set the record straight....

Image

This is where we put up visitors if they want shade all afternoon... 8)

This photo was taken pointing downhill on a south west facing mountain, just as the sun came over the top (behind me)first thing in the morning..

So a pretty acute angle here.. :) :)

Image

Really, it does give good shade for 2 chairs, the table and the electric icebox..

and weighs next to nothing..

Cordialement,

:ok

In mathematical terms, 50% of the shade offered by a traditional rectangular/square shade with two legs... :run

Lol.
