Before leaving for France this year thought i would check out the spare,had dropped the carrier before and the tread was fine so never took it out, but this time pulled it out and found this, some what off a shocked to say the least, so new one fitted.This part of the wheel was at the front of the carrier so got most light and any dirt thrown up from the road. Will keep an eye out from now on. So if you have not checked yours do it now you could get a shock to .

Saw that and thought b ell thta looks bad I havent checked mine for about 18 months. Gone out to Myrtle and some thieving barsteward has nicked my spare wheel!!!!

Havent a clue when as she has been of road having work done last year(yes year) and then parked in street.

Wrap them in black plastic. It keeps them nice and clean for the tea leaves.

Mines still got the original 1988 michelin N (complete with info sticker) in the spare wheel holder and its flat. Has been ever since i bought the van 2 1/2 years ago.

Ours had, too. It got binned for the best of the offbrand cheapies when we put four new 'uns on in France. A 25yo tyre is a blowout waiting to happen.

Adds "check spare" to reminders.

Last week when I returned from Suffolk, the retaining bolt was missing! That could have been fun.

I cant even get my retaining bolt undone....

Reminder..add " buy spare wheel and tyre" to reminder...
