Which Fiamma....

Which would you go for?

F45 or the F35 Pro, looking at 3mtrs.

It will be fitted to a westy pop top.

My thoughts are: F45 may be bulky looking at the size of the mechanism, but is the F35 (@ 3mtrs) too lightweight for our weather?

Decided to invest in a Fiamma as last week whilst on holiday, i found my 'Just Kampers' sun canopy in the next field after a storm. I must admit i had been drinking, but i'm pretty sure i attached it to the van when i put it up :shock:

The Idea with the Fiamma is that i can retract it before it rips off and chases the local live stock in the next field!

I can't tell you about the weight or robustness but you are looking at the right length, I have a 3 metre on on my bus.

Looks good! I'm after 3mtrs as that was the size of the Just Kampers canopy i had which allowed cooking / sitting etc.

They're expensive, so want to make the right choice....

I have a 35 pro and its ok for spring summer and autumn but when there is a frost it hurts your hands putting it away. It also makes water run down your arms and down the front of your clothes when its wet while putting it away. It is lighter than the 45 but if I were to buy again I would probably go for the 45. I would say it might be worth considering going for a 2.5m if you like to get at both sides of the droid well at the front of the van too.

Hope this helps,

Jed

I spent ages before deciding to shell out on a new FIamma 45S for my Westy Hitop. So glad I did now as, rain or shine, I can't fault it.

I have had both and both are excellent, but I prefer the F45 for the reasons Jed said plus the fact you don't have to fully extend it.

Have a 35 and would seriously consider a 45 if there is a next time and I had the extra wonga.
35 = lighter, aesthetically more pleasing on a T25, especially at 3m length.
45 = more robust, easier to deploy/return, part wind-outable.

Thanks for the replies, think I will look into a 45. Seen some good deals on a web site: fiamma store.
