Hi, I'm brand new to T25 ownership and am wondering if I should purchase a cover for my van in the winter as it lives on my drive OR is there anything I can do with wax etc to Look after it ????

The best thing you can do is use it! At least once a week give it a good run. These vans don't like being sat round.

These are old vans and really dont like being laid up. In my opinion, covers are a no-no in that I think they can make matters worse in that the van could sweat. Better to wash and wax it, and give it a run every weekend so as to warm the engine properly, even if its only to the garage to buy a gallon of fuel and a newspaper or something.

i use a breathable cover on mine during the winter, mostly because i live near the beach and suffer from salt and seagull poo. no real probs with it, as said try to use it once a week to keep things moving and the odd tea in the park.

JustKampers do a good cover. I've had 2 of them over the years and find them excellent. A cover will keep the water out of the window channels and so out of the panels where it will sit if your not using it.

As advised, they don't like sitting around, fire it up and get it hot once a week.

Take out soft furnishings and place a big bowl of salt in the van if it is to sit over the bad weather....

As above, but you also need to ensure that the vehicle is kept clean. A good wash and wax prior to the colder weather coming in will help and then all it will require is a regular wash and wipe down especially if it has been used when there's salt on the roads.

A cover is essential if you are near any trees or greenery. Sap and leaf mould plays havoc with all the window rubbers and horizontal surfaces. But above all I'd run it weekly and use a trickle charger for the battery.
