Hi Guys,

Just replaced the rear socket on the van to wire up to a trailer, also replaced the socket on the trailer. All wired correctly.

Wires from trailer socket run into a row of electrical connectors and I worked out what goes where

But only thing that works is the lights but not the stop lights or indicators?????

Any ideas?

First thing to try, given that both the socket and lightboard are "unknown" is to try either the trailer on another car, or another lightboard on the van.

If it IS the trailer that's playing up, swap the bulbs about and clean the connections. Then get the multimeter out, and make sure you've got good earths and volts where they should be.

just done the same job on my 1990 t 25. the fog light didnt work. after much of a to do, i found the wire had been cut off in the middle of the tow bar connections! never trust the wiring if you didnt do it yourself. i suggest you check all the connections to the loom, and rewire as necssary. as in may case , if the wires are on right , it will work. there are several fuses to check at the fuse box, check against the lid for location, and mine had two on the top edge as well, best of luck kdave

Well all connections on trailer cleaned/re stripped and re connected. Actual trailer light units are new so no probs there!

Will check the connections from van tom and if that fails then I think I will replace all the wiring in case there is problems there.

But no doubt it will be a silly thing I will find at the last minute!

Did mine fairly quickly by operating each circuit in turn to find which wire had current then just connected to relevant bulb/s on trailer board. I agree, don't trust any existing cable - better to run new and start from scratch. Its a LOT quicker in the end.
