We always use the electric kettle and electric toaster when on hook up. We also have 2 kw fan heater, a Breville sandwich toaster and now also use a Halogen oven for cooking too, it's great for oven chips, Pizzas, Jacket potatoes, cheese on toast, it will even cook a whole Sunday roast dinner if you were so inclined. The main rule we used for the various electrical appliances is they must be rated at less than 2KW.
We have found that the cheap kettles & toasters from Asda or Tesco are suitable. We have also experimented and found that the toaster and the Kettle can be used together or the fan heater on it's number one setting and the toaster or kettle, without tripping the vans electrics. The breaker in the van has always tripped before the site's electric breaker has so far.
