Hi all
My VC is getting very aggressive after a good run, looking for a new or good recon VC, It seems the usual places I know have sold out. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get hold of a new one or if you've got one available for sale.

Alas, Aidan was my first port of call, both him and brickwerks are both out of stock. It's looking like I will have to pay lots to classic parts or shop in Germany

buy the silicone and the seals and redo your own, its easy

Jason many thanks will order the fluid and seals, do you have a guide on how to do the recon? Think we need Jed to do a 'how to movie', all his others have been dead good been watching his how to remove the vc movie in preparation.

I have a VC in one of my sheds. Can't remember who's van it was off or if its failed open or closed, could give it a go.

basically you sit around drinking lots of beer discussing the best way to do it then after you´ve done that for a few hours you open up your vc remove the plates inside and hang them up so that most of the silicone fluid can drip off, this is a long process so while your waiting you clean out the casing and change the seals and then drink lots of beer and go to bed, the next morning most of the fluid has dripped off and then with a suitable cleaning fluid start to clean off the plates and place them in the clean casing this is the hard part as your brain is still a bit cloudy from the night before and the fumes from the silicone cleaner doesn´t help much so have a couple more beers and just get on with it, then using a set of scales you weigh all your clean componants and then add from what i can remember between 280-290 grams of silicone as you put all your plates back into the case, basically the dismantle in reverse, don´t try to analyse the state of all the plates as they are all a bit scratched in some way or another and there are only a few supernerds on the planet that actually understand what effect those scratches will have, then you seal the vc again and toast a job well done.
thats how i did it and it still works perfectly so as i said its not that hard
