Just back today from a lovely week at Camusdarach, parked Bertha up and noticed oil on the road, I double checked and it is dripping from under the offside doorstep . I do park on a steep hill and wonder if it is running along from elsewhere, Any ideas greatly appreciated . Love this site

Defo oil and not brake fluid or leaking shock?

How thick is it? If you smear a bit between your fingers and give it a sniff [

], you should be able to tell if it's oil or brake fluid. Brake fluid has a very "distinctive" smell.

Pretty sure it is brake fluid , very clean , found reservoir and it has lost some , any ideas where to check now ?

yeah, check internally around the pedals as the fluid could well be leaking from either the clutch (more common) or brake (less common) master cylinders...onto the floor and finding it's way out the footwell area.

Topped up reservoir, dried all the floor , operated both pedals lots , reservoir level stays the same, no sign of anything running down pedals, possibly a slow leak and with all the rain we have had the leak in the windscreen made it more prominent ,
Have gone round screen rubber with Captain trolleys creeping crack cure , (what a great name eh )
Will take her for a drive tomorrow (local) and see what occurs,
Thanks for the help and pointing me in the right direction,
Gordie
