I have the high rev/oil pressure light going off..... I changed the oil - took well over 5 l of oil out of it! the light goes on when you turn the ignition then goes out once the engine starts. As soon as you rev it the light and buzzer start up. Is it electrical? where do I start? want to go camping on tues....

What engine...?
It's probably the high rev sender dying or come disconnected. Check the wiring by shorting the wire to it to earth. If that makes it behave, then it's the sender. If not, then it's the wiring or the box of tricks in the dash. Don't even bother trying to diagnose the sender itself, just replace it.

Hi,
Did you get this issue sorted ?
I have exactly the same problem with my 1Y engine, so would be interested to know if replacing the high rev sender fixed the problem.
Regards,
Colm.

hi mate.
I ended up taking the dash pod off, cleaning the connectors as people recommend and it has solved the problem. Message me again if you require more details.
Thanks

You can also tell if the switch is faulty by ignoring it and continuing to drive as normal.
If your engine doesnt sieze throuh lack of oil, switch is faulty.
On the other hand..................
