We I did it! I went to brum and got my alloys striped, powder coated and baked for £20 a wheel in Brum.
They arnt perfect but

for £20 a wheel it wasn't worth getting the paint and my hands dirty.
I am well chuffed.
I didn't want to spend a fortune, have you seen my Mrs drive?
What do you think? I will try an find some before pictures!

Look good, can't decide weather to stick with my original wheels or swap them eventually. Cost of tyres is a big factor. They seem reasonable for my original wheels.

I bought part worn for the rear at £25 and new for the front £50 each. That way it saves changing all 4 at the same time if the wear at the same rate. Don't forget if you change to alloys you will probably have to get longer nuts for the front and have longer studs fitted on the back. Keith is doing mine on Thursday next week.

Not sure but they look a bit like OZ's?
Isn't there any info on the inside of the wheel?
Oh and 91 load rated tyres aren't anywhere near high enough for a full on camper.

They are the old tyres that have been chucked. Yes they do say OZ on the back I hadn't noticed before what would they have come from or are they just after market wheels. Again out of interest what tyres do I need then? what rating choice do I have? tyres to me are just black and round!

You have to be careful when choosing tyres as putting the wrong rated tyres on your van will invalidate your insurance. Plus if you get stopped by VOSA i think its 3 points per wheel for incorrect load rating. Don't quote me on that, although i did email them about a while ago to check what load rating i needed for my T4 LWB. They suggested a minimum of 97
I've got 101 rated 184R14's on my T25 just to be safe as extra load rated low profiles are a fortune.

They're aftermarket OZ wheels and more than likely previously fitted to a Merc.
The tyres you need are 225/50/17 and they are available in 98 load rating.

Where'd you get them done? I want to do my summer alloys and was quoted £55 + vat per wheel.
