Hi guys, anyone got experience with reproduction cylinder heads?

Got an Aircooled 2.0l CU thats been on LPG for 10,000 miles and iv burnt out the valves, one valve seat came off and knackered the head.

Getting hardened valve seats put in but need a new head..

I put two new AMC heads on our 2ltr Aircooled, 20,000 miles plus on lpg they still ok, i did fit a flashlube system purchased from gassure after fitting them as there are a few posts over on shop talk forums about the quality of the seats and valve guides used in the AMC Aircooled type iv heads.

My van had a recon engine with AMC heads before I bought it. The valve seat on No.3 was toast after less than 30000 miles.

Hello,

These heads

are OK..

But I find they usually need stripping and the valves lapping in again... also fit the rubber oil seals..

There are often stickers on the box saying if they have been 'lapped' or not..

Hope this helps..

Cordialement..
