Khyam Awning Help

I have a Kyham Motordome Tourer awning which i use with my high top.

I linked the awning using the figure of 8's to the gutter rail. All was good till we has some torrential rain and we had a large run of water coming in through the joint.

The only way i could describe it would be that the rain was running off the high top down to the gutter rail, flooding the gutter rail then leaking through the 4 individual figure of 8's. Is there a way to seal the figure of 8's together better?

The figure of 8 rail also popped off from the van in the night. Does anyone else get these issues?

Is the only option to buy a Fiammi Awning to lock onto the gutter rail then attach my kyham motordome onto the Fiammi awning?

The Motordome needs a 'J' rail attached higher up the roof than the gutter (about 6" up the roof) this gives the correct tension and helps prevent pooling which is why yours leaked.

Ian.

Any decent caravan accessory shop.
For example:
http://www.camperlands.co.uk/j-aluminiu ... -rail.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's fixed with stainless rivets,screws or/and Sikaflex.

There's plenty of places elsewhere who post them...here's just one....
http://www.motorhome-accessories.com/ou ... ng-j-rail/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also try the links below because if they haven't got one they'll definitely be able to and you can then collect it.

http://www.beeframpton.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.dorsetcaravanshop.co.uk/?page_id=6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My mate had this problem on a bongo (because awning attachment fabric was higher than his awning) - he fixed it by buying a 3m continuous length of figure 8. I've never had this problem as have a tintop with gutter higher than the awning. In fact the problem I have is that my syncro's almost too high for our motordome awning
