Big worry. Squeaky belt on startup. Main engine pulley hot

Very concerned with T25 just bought a week ago.

Belt was very squeaky on start up, then stopped squeaking after a few minutes, with just the occasional squeak.

When I had a look belt gets very hot, and it appears the main engine pulley also gets very hot first. Then the alternator pulley.

Could it be that belt not tight enough, or something much worse!

Apart from that runs along the road fine, new radiator was fitted so all the water circulates ok etc.

I think you are right. Tightened up and seems better.

Noticed that the pulleys not to well aligned, particularly the water pump and the flywheel even though they are very close together. Not sure why this should be.

Flywheel is at the other end of the engine by the clutch!
Have another go.
