When changing the timing belt the books says remove the crankshaft (ie bottom) pulley. The bolts look very difficult and like they need an allen key - is that right? Can anyone tell me if its possible to get the timing belt off/new one on without removing the bottom pulley? Wondered if it would squeeze through the gap without damaging the belt? Advice very welcome.

the main 21mm bolt holding the pulley on doesn't hold the pulley on. The four allen keys do. Once they are off, wiggle and twiggle and the pulley comes off. But yes you can get it through the gap too. I just done it
