12V Fridge Problem

My Electrolux fridge has worked great on 12V, 230V and Gas up until now.

Suddenly it does not work on 12V. I have checked the relay. The yellow input from the battery is showing 14v when the engine is on. Neither of the other 2x red wires are live. I guess my issue is the supply from ignition has gone.

I have checked every single fuse in the fuse box under the dash and none are blown.

Any ideas where else to look?
Thanks again.
Mark

We had a similar problem in The Isle of Man last year. Turned out to be a failed wire from 12v supply. I say failed because it was a pig tailed splice wrapped in tape. Over the years, salt and corrosion had set in and although the join looked good, it was not conducting the 'leccy. Maybe worth a check?

Thanks for reply. I guess I just need time to check continuity at various points. Not sure where the wiring goes though.

Must be either a joint come loose or a rogue in-line fuse somewhere.

My understanding of these are that they are three totally separate heaters, so if works on 240 and gas, and you have 12v going to the junction box on the fridge, then probable that the 12 v heater has gone.

Hi,
Thanks but the permanent 12v only goes as far as the relay. The additional 12v from the ignition is not reaching the relay, as it should.

I have checked all the fuses under the dash but none are blown. I am hoping someone can point me as to what else to check?
Are there any hidden in-line fuses I don't know about?
Where does the feed come from? I guess not straight from ignition but through a fuse somewhere?
Thanks,
Mark

I have a Westie so it may be different. Anyhow my 12v side stopped working. There was a separate additional fuse to the fridge side in a small black fuse box on the bulkhead just in front of the kitchen unit. The aluminium fuse had corroded against the copper connections. I cleaned up the connections and sanded the fuse and bingo it worked again. I then replace the bullet fuse with a copper one to stop this happening again. This may not help but it maybe a possibility.
:)

Thanks, I will look for additional fuses tomorrow.
