Westy fridge wiring?

I have removed my late westy fridge (permanently)but now the tap for the sink doesn't work as well as the display panel for the water and voltage.

I unplugged the 12v side of the fridge first (under the sink) and everything still worked it was only when I unplugged the 230v plug that it all stopped working.

I can't get my head around this. Any ideas please?

Have you checked if a previous owner has modded the earth wiring. The mains shouldn't affect it, I've removed the mains electric from my van (US) completely and it didn't affect the tap etc..

Might be wrong, but it's just a thought.

I'm reading your thread with interest as I'm considering a Waeco fridge too.

Hope you get it sorted.

Is the tap earthed to the fridge?

Have a look at the Westy fuses, inside the driver's side B pillar, neatly hidden. Betcha that you've managed to short the tap wiring to earth and blow the fuse.

No, because when I plugged he fridge plug back in everything worked again.

I'm really puzzled.

Turned out to be an earth fault. The leisure battery earth had a load of under seal beneath it. All clean and a 35mm2 cable fitted.

Both the 230v and the 12v fridge cable had to be connected for the tap etc to work. not just the 230v as i said earlier. So it was using the 230v earth for the 12 earth too.
