Hi

I have recently blown several fuses driving to camp sites with the fridge running off the battery. Anyone know what size fuse I should put in? Not helped by the company doing body work "replacing" my brand new leisure battery with a tatty car battery! Still chasing that one. Can I post on a "Bad Garage" forum without being sued? I have an Autosleepers T25 high-top.

The fridge shouldn't really be running off the leisure battery. It's better if it's wired direct to the main (turnover) battery, protected by a relay so that it can't run unless the engine is fired up and generating leccy.

As to the fuse, that varies depending on the fridge model. Look on Club Stuff in the menus at the top of the page where the instructions for some popular fridges have been posted. I have an Electrolux RM 2200 3-way in my van, for which the recommended fuse is a 12amp.

Just take an extra feed from the 'trigger' side of the split charge relay up to a second relay powering the fridge, or buy a split charge relay with a 'fridge' take off.
