Greetings from Trieste

Sitting in a queue for a 3am ferry boarding, bound south. Did 8 hours solid driving today, 670km from north of Innsbruck to Trieste, one fuel stop and one for a pee! Brenner pass was entertaining, never seem so many HGV's

Got 634km out of one tank today and still not on reserve, new record for me.

Parked next to me is a g wagen with all the trimmings, dirty talk ensued followed by a proposal;think of the babies that would come from that union

Enjoy your aircon. Europe is hot at the mo with wind coming north off Africa. Just got back from a fly trip to Rome. Over 30 degrees every day, even on the coast.

I always aim to do Brenner at night. Best coffee en route just over the border tho. There is an amazing scenic route from Innsbruck if you ever get time. Also once over you could dive off around Bozen up into the Dolomites around Canazei. Spectacular mountain passes eg Por Doi. Have a great trip

Thought i would check in :D

Just set up camp after a long day trekking on foot round ancient Sparta and Mystras in 39c peak temp. Working round the Peloponesse in a generally clockwise direction and there is some great driving to be done here.

Lots of tracks, high mountain passes and gorges along the way and the van is behaving herself and coping with the heat admirably.

Surprised by the number of working syncros and t25's we have seen here too.
P
Pics will have to wait til we get back in ten days but needless to say we have taken a fair few.

Thanks, we are coming back through Italy and France. On the ferry tonight from Patras to Ancona and hope to spend a day at Firenza on the way through.

We drovethrough the Dolomites on our way back from Croatia a few years back. Lovely!
