So, four days until we go to France for four weeks I'm filling the Westy water tank to clean it. Child A in garden screams. Child B says, "Dad, come quick". Dad goes and extricates Child A from bushes following slip off swing. Dad gets "magic spray" to make Child A shut up. 10 minutes later dad remembers that he left the hose running. The van floor is flooded and water is dripping out of the van.

Parked on slope to help it drain. Check everything still works. All does except tap. It has now been 24 hours and it seems pretty dry but the tap is still not working. In the cupboard next to the tank are wires and a black cover that is right next to the tank; these were all wet but feel dry now. All the other electrics that were working still are - fridge ignition, panel display.

What do I do next?

If you remove the cutlery drawer, you can find the wiring to the tap. Make sure you've got +12v to one of the connectors. reconnect that one, turn the tap on, make sure you've got +12v on the way out of the tap. If that all works, check you've got +12v (with the tap on) at the pump, and a good earth.

If that lot's all OK, your pump's just chosen that particular moment to die...

I presume you'd got the top off the tank and were filling it through the cupboard, rather than the main water filler? If so, then you've probably knocked a connector to the pump whilst putting it all back together.

Well, I tested all that and was just pulling the pump up through the tank to inspect when it started working! Loose connection inside the pump itself I guess? As a sealed unit I can't investigate it. It does sound quite laboured though so the pump may be on the way out....?
