Howdo,
I'm after info on what seats will fit a T25 up front. Needs to be simple to fit!
I know about the Saab900/9000
anymore?

On this theme, I'm scrapping my old 87 Honda Civic, anyone happen to know owt abowt transferring seats therefrom?

I've got Rover 620s armchairs in mine.

But had to modify runners to fit.

I can travel all the way to the Med and get out the other end feeling refreshed.

Basically if you can find a pair of seats that are at least comfy and you can weld on runners, the world is your oyster. This is rather an open ended question I guess. Height is the main criterea. ChicenKoop has Ricaros in his but to be honest I find the captains chairs the most comfortable. I was always welding in new seats in my beetle but then they HAD to flip forward. As you don't have that issue I'd say there were probably hundreds of seats you could adapt to fit a T25. None will be easy to fit I'm afraid, but much satisfaction can be had after you've succesfully adapted a pair you like.

yeah that is what i thought... looks like i'll have to get some with runners already welded on then, as I canni weld myself!

Would love some captains chairs, but they're hard to find and either well expensive, or scruffy and still well expensive!

Don't some seats sit too high though??? Don't want to get some that aren't any good!....

Ah don't knock it, high seats are good for spotting small field mice etc.

You have a fair bit of room in terms of what you could fit. Best bet is to go to a local scrappy, tell them what you want to do and ask them if you can have a look round. I imagine quite a few luxury car seats will fit in a wedge - also gives you some idea of what the underneath of them is like.

As for getting them welded, if your seats are shot anyway, you can strip them down to the seat base frame - that gives a local welder a reference point to work from. Often a new seat can be tacked on to this base - they just grind away whats not needed.

i have got granny scorpio heated leather seats in my van

Had to remove the Ford subframe so i could fit me legs under the steering whell.

Unfortunately your gonna need to find a welder who can help you out, I can't weld myself, but luckily have a mate who does and his currencey is beer!!!

kathy put a word out for gus on here i know he has some nice seats at vf and has a mate that will weld 25 runner on for a little extra.

Mine are out of a volvo 340, cheap and plentiful with the added bonus of being just the right height and width,comfy too. Wobbly

The SAAB seat fitting method was originally thanks to someone else but I can't remember who now

I've seen loads of different seats fitted to T3's at the garage, and to be honest you can't beat the factroy ones with arm rests.
Thing is with most of the others is that they are kinda tall and the seat ends up a little close to the steering wheel making getting in and out a pain in the a***.
There are a few that are short enough, Porsche seats spring to mind, they have a nice flat runner too, not too bad to fit.
As for the Volvo 340 ones, they are probably one of the worst, very comfy but you can only just get your legs between the seat and the wheel, getting in and out is bad enough but you also gotta think what would happen in a crash.
