Hi my 2.0 Aircooled T25 has two old and knacked heat exchangers.The ends facing towards the front of the bus are not connected and let out fumes and heat. Is it possible to completly remove them as I am not fussed about having a heating system ?

just remove outer casings and heat sinks of your original heat exchangers very easy to do and you end up with j tubes , and all it will cost you is your time , and if the outer caings are not there it cant fail mot on a defective exhaust

.....Providing they are not knackered & leaking, which I am guessing why he is thinking about removing them?

If I remove the outer casings, the internals of the exchangers will be exposed. Would this still be ok for the MOT ?

That would be fine. Its quite common to do, but if you have leaking pipes and exhaust fumes coming out of the 'J-tubes' then you may fail the MOT. Did you have fumes coming into the camper?

I originally bought the bus without them connected. In the winter I connected them with some flexi air duct to test . Fumes did come through to the cab through the vents so I disconnected them. Now the MOT is due im wondering what the best thing to do is.

Ok so by that I would assume that you have a leak of exhaust gasses from within, this would join in with the air that should be heated by the fins.

If its holed & rusty and escaping exhaust gasses then you are more than likely looking at replacement J-Tubes or heat exchangers.

When you take it in for an MOT they wont mind the fins being exposed but they will mind the exhaust leaking.
