HELP!!! Choke cable & throttle cable issues...

OK a bit random but does anyone know where I can get an extra long choke cable from for a T25? I have fitted an 1800 8v Audi engine in my bus and I just can't seem to get hold of a long enough choke cable, I'm having issues with splicing cables together as it seems to result in them not 'pulling/pushing' as they should so I'd really like one long cable that I can take a bit off the end. I have found one which is 3.05 metres which sounds long (and may actually be long enough given that it doesn't go from tip to tail) but the T25 is 4.6 metres in length (according to Wikipedia!) so I'm just a bit bothered that it won't be quite long enough once I've run it down from the engine, under and along the length of the van and back up into the cab....... any help would be massively appreciated.
Also can anyone with a diesel advise me a bit on the throttle cable situation, my carb is now situated in a similar location to where it would be if I had a diesel block but not exactly as my block is sat upright as oppose to being tilted back slightly.... the question is does the diesel throttle cable have enough 'left over' cable on it do you think to substantiate the slightly longer length that I would require (with it needing to go up an extra couple of inches). I've been thinking that's the best option for the throttle as the original cable wont work of course (incorrect length as the carb is in a different place) - again I've tried splicing two together and it sort of works but it's not really ideal or what I want...... any help??? Mainly on the choke cable..... I have considered trying to find a choke cable for an LT????

Throttle cable (do not know)
Cold start cable, all I can input is re site it. Mine was upfront on the dash panel and after having some issues with it (it was broke towards the end) I decided to re site elsewhere, so I put down on the center deck next to the gear shift lever, thus it worked... for me. Think outside the box :idea

Have you thoght of getting a special cable made? Try the people that make cable for classic motorcycles, you will need to work out the length then give them the old cable as a pattern. Just a thought :)

Get a commercial 'Stop' cable, they are generic cables with a bulkhead fitting at the knob end (*sniggers*) and are about 15' long.

As for the accelerator cable what about a diesel one ? That's longer than the petrol types ... you may have to put a cable joiner in in the engine bay of course.

Choke cable - just use piano wire, unless you need the outer also, in which case get one made up. I used 16 ft making a replacement for my 1Y cold start cable. (coils come in 19ft 6in length) 15ft is too short for a rhd certainly.

I have found a supplier on ebay that can do the inner wire and the outer casing for a reasonable price for whatever length but they have no ends on them. I'm wondering does anyone have any experience with cable crimp ends and how strong are they? i.e would they be withstanding for use on the end of the throttle cable to keep it in place?
I already have a universal choke cable so I was thinking I could use the handle part off that with some of the above mentioned cable; assuming I can take it apart etc.
I just need to try to get my head round it, it's fairly simple in theory but I don't want to buy these bits and them not be right otherwise it's another £30 or so quid down the pan!
