Hmmmm

My tail light (nearside) keeps failing, if I take the bulb out and put it back in all is fine. I screw it back on and it stops working again GRRRR

Any ideas on how to resolve this little problem?

All you can do is make sure its clean (ie no corrosion), that any spade terminals are equally clean, and that spring contacts for bulb base are firm against bulb.
