T4 steel wheels?

Hi, will 15" T4 steel wheels fit onto a T25 without any changes? I know the PCD is the same, but I seem to be getting conflicting stories.

Has anyone done it themselves with success?

I 'think' the center bore is too small on T4 steels

Correct...T4 steels have a 57.1mm centre bore so too small for a T25.....plus they're ET44(early) and ET55(late) so spacers would be required anyway.

I have no idea what that means, but I will gladly take your word for it.

The centre bore is the hole in the middle - it isn't big enough on the T4 wheels for the T25 hub centre to go through.

The ET number is the 'offset' of the wheel i.e. where the centreline of the tyre sits relative to the outer face of the hub. A smaller ET number means the wheels sit further out, a higher ET number means that they sit further in to the arch. If the wheel sits too far into the arch the edge of the rim can clash with the suspension/ steering arm. In this case you put a spacer in between the wheel and the hub so that the wheels sit further out and don't catch.

So I assume you could use the T4 steel wheels with spacers then? If anyone has any advice on which one may suit it would be gladly taken.

The reason I ask is because I have been offered a set of 15" T4 steels for free which I want to tidy up and paint white and then colour the centre caps to match my colour scheme.

The money you would spend on spacers and what not, you may aswell get some Merc, Audi steels that would fit depending on the ones you get obviously.

Audi steels have a 57.1mm centre bore and very high offsets.

Sooooo......being a little less educated than most when it comes to wheels. What are the Merc wheels called or are they just any Merc 5x112 Steel wheels? Should there be something in particualar I should be looking out for?
