Hi,
I dont know if this will be of any help to anyone, but I have just fitted remote central locking to my van and went to fit the the motor to the sliding door lock, only to find no linkage to attach the motor rod to. To get round this problem I removed the lock and drilled a hole in the linkage (see photo) using some of the rod cut off from fitting the front motors,I bent the rod to make it lock into the pre-drilled hole





Refitting the lock, I could then attach the the rod from the motor to the rod I had fitted



The motor I fitted to the left of the door (looking at it) excuse the crap metal brackets, I will make something a bit more substantial, when I make sure all is working correctly



Hope this is of some help to somebody, and if its in the wrong place, please relocate

What have you done for the electrical contacts?

I've done pretty much the same but finding the contacts a little difficult to line up and temperamental.

Hi,
I bought a 2 pin sliding door contact switch of eBay, it took a lot of lining up including cutting it, to get it in the right place. I will take photo's tomorrow to show if that helps

i was thinking of adding central locking but the sliding door issue put me off , so any photos would be greatly appreciated

Here are the contacts I used on the sliding door, as I said I got them of ebay





On the contacts I cut the base plate and removed about a 1/4 along its length to get it close enough to the edge of the b post, to get it to make contact

I've got the same contacts, but the other way round plate on the pilar and pointy springers on the door, working absolutely fine on drivers side and a bit tempramental on the passenger side (twin slider) seems the angle is a little off on the passenger side.

Saw some contacts elsewhere that were more like balls both sides but can't seem to locate them on the net.

Guess a little more filing and jiggery pokery may be in order.
