Play in the wheel bearings

Afternoon everyone

I am pleased to say the camper passed its MOT. On the advisory items it says that all 4 wheel bearings had 'slight play'.

Is this something I can sort easily? Should I be concerned?

My knowledge of my camper is getting better but this is not something I've tackled yet. Off to read the wiki but any advice/explanations would be gratefully received.

Thanks for your patience :D

Hi
these vans are fitted with 'taper roller bearings' and there SHOULD be a little play in them, when cold.
Most MOT testers with a few years under their belts will know this.
If there is no play when the bearings are cold, then as they warm up during a drive, they become tight and will wear prematurely.
Example:
front wheel bearings - when fitting new ones the axle nut is tightened up whist you spin the brake disc, until the disc becomes stiff. Then you back off the nut until the disc spins free again. THEN you tighten the nut again (maybe just 'half a flat' if that makes sense?) until you can just move the thrust washer behind the nut with the blade of a screwdriver. Any tighter and you risk bearing damage.
Its all in the WIKI, and there are MOT testers on here who will explain further if needs be..
FW :)
