Gearbox input shaft replacement

Further to our 'adventures' in Scotland this easter (https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 40&start=0), we are now trying to sort out the outstanding issues with our transmission.

We've sourced a new input shaft and spigot bearing which we need to get fitted, but we're getting back quotes in excess of £300 + VAT for the labour, i.e. approx 6 hours minimum.

The clutch was replaced only 1000 miles ago, so we're not anticipating anything else requiring work, and considering the whole thing was opened up so recently we don't anticipate any major issues with corroded fixings etc.

Can somebody give me an idea as to what the VW book time is for this work so I can get a handle on whether these quotes are in line with expectations or not?
