T25 Radio

Hi all, i'm looking for are radio to fit my 87 T25. the radio that's in at the moment is too big and won't fit properly as it is up against the bulk head. can anyone advice of a website or company that do retro radio's, not really fussed about CD.

Don’t really know about new retro radios but what about a MP3 Radio, you can get sony’s from Halfords and Argos for around £50 and cheaper makes elsewhere. Also then are not as deep. All you do is put you music on a USB stick via your PC and you can play them direct from that. Saves mucking about with CD’s when driving as you can fit a few CD’s onto one USB drive.
If its an original radio you need what about a second hand one, just put a post in the wanted section.

I wanted to replace the radio in my van but found 'normal units' to be too deep as well. Searched on bay of fleas and found this non CD set,

It is very good indeed and I would recommend it.
MP3 plugs in easily, great sound quality. Very pleased indeed.

I have one very similar to that one ^^^ - It is made by "BaseFace" and is pretty good but since I left a rave review on the Baseface web page I have found 2 slight problems with it. The first is a "camper only" thing really in so much as even on volume number "1" it is too loud to go to sleep with it on (Radio 4 or "mood" music)
Also, unless the radio signal is very strong, you can hear a kind of pulsing noise = annoying. I think all these type of players suffer from another slight "issue" in so much as it is not possible to "navigate" (other than 1 forward or back) through a memory stick or card. You just have to let it start at the beginning and work through, or play "random" tracks. This is not so good if you have a stick with hundreds of assorted tracks on it
However, I got around that by buying (cheap) a load of small (256mb) memory cards and putting dedicated compilations on each = "Blues" "Reggae" "Rock" "Faves" etc and numbering them with a felt tip pen so I know what is what (I even have a card on the dash with the "menu" on, 1 = Blues etc)
The remote control is handy when you're in bed
