Had some time to get to this today....

Mike (Ghia) - how you fixed next weekend or the the one after? Still have time to drop by and give my VC a second opinion? I'm definitely getting some interesting noises especially when doing a tight reverse. Took her for the longest run I've done so far - Heathrow and back - must have maxed at 70 mph on the M4.
Cheers

Out of interest, what sort of noises?
I had a similar thing and it just involved a bent bit of metal...

mines a distinct grinding from rear (oooer). Is barely audible in a straight line, but put the lock on and it sounds bad.
When 1st looked into it, the small strip of metal between under run bars, directly under rear prop UJ was bent up and showed signs of catching so I ran without for a while, much better but noise still there. Doh. Straightened that bit, put it back on.
Then it went into Brickyard for other stuff, and he said (correct me if I'm misquoting you Si) the engine / box / exhaust were fouling on the under run bars, and I believe he re-positioned the bars to give more clearance.
This nearly cured it, until I went to Biggin quarry . .where I must have knocked everything back to original position.
I'm guessing the gearbox / engine must flex downwards and catch when it's in reverse, but that's not something I feel an urge to lie under the bus and check

I'll see if I can put it on pit at work and get one of the monkeys to have a look . . .
prob just need new engine & box mountings . .
